President of India Visits YSS Ranchi Ashram

On November 15, 2017, the Honorable President of India, Sri Ram Nath Kovind, visited Yogoda Satsanga Society of India’s Ranchi Ashram in honor of the official release of the Hindi translation of Paramahansa Yogananda’s God Talks With Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita. Accompanying Sri Kovind were the Governor of Jharkhand (the state in which Ranchi is located), Srimati Draupadi Murmu, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Sri Raghubar Das (see photo right), as well as several other dignitaries. Brother Chidananda, president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India, led the contingent of YSS and SRF monastics who hosted the honored guests. Additionally, nearly 3,000 YSS members and friends gathered for the occasion, which took place during the 2017 YSS Sharad Sangam honoring the society’s centennial anniversary (1917-2017).

YSS/SRF President Swami Chidananda Visits Ashrams in India

Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship President Swami Chidananda Giri recently embarked on his first trip abroad as spiritual head of Paramahansa Yogananda’s society. He departed October 28 from the SRF Mother Center in Los Angeles and made a brief stop in London before reaching Paramahansaji’s homeland, where he stayed until November 18. During this time he visited YSS ashrams and presided at some of the key events during the 2017 Sharad Sangam. His visit is made even more special by the fact that YSS is celebrating its centennial this year.

Janmotsav at Ahmedabad and Chennai

We are happy to announce that, in 2018, the 125<sup>th</sup> Janmotsav celebrations in the honour of our blessed Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, will be held simultaneously at Ahmedabad and Chennai during January 4 – 7. YSS/SRF Announces New President

The Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship Board of Directors is happy to share with you the news that Swami Chidananda Giri has been elected president and spiritual head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship (YSS/SRF), succeeding Sri Sri Mrinalini Mata, who served in this position from January 2011 until her passing last month. His appointment was made by a unanimous vote by the SRF Board of Directors on Wednesday, August 30, 2017.

YSS Lessons - Enhanced and Expanded Edition

As just announced at SRF World Convocation in Los Angeles, a new edition of the Yogoda Satsanga/Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons is planned for release in 2018. This is a monumental project assigned personally by our guru, Paramahansa Yogananda, to our late beloved Sanghamata and President, Sri Sri Mrinalini Mata — a project that she had worked on for decades, and to which she had been devoting a huge amount of her available time and energy to bring to final completion during the past few years.
