Paramahansa Yogananda on Practical Ways to Overcome Stress and Worry in Daily Life

When we have too much to do at one time, we become very discouraged. Instead of worrying about what should be done, just say: “This hour is mine. I will do the best I can.” The clock cannot tick twenty-four hours away in one minute, and you cannot do in one hour what you can do in twenty-four hours. Live each present moment completely and the future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty of each instant. Practice the presence of peace. The more you do that, the more you will feel the presence of that power in your life.



Knowing that you are a child of God, make up your mind to be calm no matter what happens. If your mind is fully identified with your activities, you cannot be conscious of the Lord, but if you are calm and receptive to Him within while being active without, you are rightly active.

Try to remain for one minute at a time without thinking negatively, fixing the mind on the peace within, especially if worried. Then try to remain for several minutes with a quiet mind. Following that, think of some happy incident; dwell on it and visualize it; mentally go through some pleasant experience over and over again until you have forgotten your worries entirely.

A lump of sand cannot withstand the erosive effect of the ocean’s waves; an individual who lacks imperturbable inner peace cannot remain tranquil during mental conflict. But as a diamond remains unchanged no matter how many waves swirl around it, so also a peace-crystallized individual remains radiantly serene even when trials beset him from all sides.

YSS/SRF President Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri’s India Tour - 2019

It gives us great joy to inform you that our revered President, Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri, will be visiting India in October-November 2019 to preside over special programmes at three major Indian cities. These programmes will be held at Noida (Oct 18–20), Hyderabad (Nov 1–3), and Mumbai (Nov 8–10). Pujya Swamiji is eagerly looking forward to spend time with Guruji’s large family in India, and we are very grateful to him for giving us this blessed opportunity. While choosing the venues for these special programmes, much thought and consideration was given so that the maximum number of devotees from all parts of India get an opportunity to participate in them.



Odisha Cyclone Relief

Cyclone Fani was the strongest tropical cyclone to hit India in 20 years. It made landfall in the eastern coastal city of Puri in the Odisha state on Friday, May 3, 2019, causing much destruction particularly in Puri and Bhubaneswar.
