Welcome to the June edition of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India eNewsletter. This month we share inspiring thoughts from Paramahansa Yogananda on the way to develop a positive inner environment—counteracting difficulties in one’s outer environment.
Paramahansa Yogananda on Developing a Positive Inner Environment
There are two kinds of environment: inner and outer. Outer environment consists of one’s physical surroundings (noisy, quiet, and so forth). Inner environment is one’s state of mind.
No matter what inharmonious surrounding you may have, if you meditate, or at least sit in silence for a few minutes every day, and live in harmony with your inner Self, you will always live in heaven and will carry your own portable paradise everywhere.
Learn to carry all the conditions of happiness within yourself by meditating and attuning your consciousness to the ever-existing, ever-conscious, ever-new Joy, which is God. Your happiness should never be subject to any outside influence. Whatever your environment is, don’t allow your inner peace to be touched by it.
Wrap yourself in the thought of God. His holy Name is the Power of all powers. Like a shield it deflects all negative vibrations.
Affirmation: I will make my inner environment perfect through meditation, that it be impervious to all adverse outside influences.
Establish your inner environment of protective peace and security by learning meditation as taught by Paramahansa Yogananda.
