Joy is what we are all looking for; not a fleeting feeling, but ever-lasting bliss. But how does one acquire it? Senior Yogoda Satsanga Society of India sannyasi Swami Smaranananda Giri draws on the wisdom teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda to demonstrate how we can be successful in the pursuit of happiness—by approaching it as both an art as well as a science.
Happiness, he explains, is the state of ever-lasting joy inside, irrespective of the conditions prevailing outside, and this joy is borne out of deep meditation. With the scientific techniques of Kriya Yoga meditation, one can still the ripples of restless thoughts, emotions, and sensations on the lake of the mind, to help us contact inner bliss. This talk further expands on the various principles of the art of happiness as explained by Yoganandaji.
