In honour of Mahavatar Babaji Smriti Divas, which is July 25, this week we are sharing this special audio recording of Sri Sri Daya Mata, president of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship from 1955 until her passing in 2010.
During a visit to Paramahansa Yogananda’s ashrams in India (October 1963 – May 1964), Sri Daya Mata made a sacred pilgrimage to a Himalayan cave that has been sanctified by the physical presence of Mahavatar Babaji, the supreme guru in Paramahansa Yogananda’s lineage of spiritual masters. For some time afterward, Daya Mataji declined in public meetings to speak about her experience. But when, at this satsanga in Encinitas, a devotee asked Daya Mataji to tell of her visit to Babaji’s cave, the Divine Will prompted a positive response. This is her account, for the inspiration of all. (This recording is made from two occasions during which Daya Mataji spoke of this event.)
