YSS Retreats and How-to-Live Retreat Programmes
Yogoda Satsanga Society of India’s How-to-Live Retreat programmes are open to anyone seeking spiritual renewal and who desires to leave behind the pressures of everyday life – even if only for a few days — to deepen their awareness of the Divine. The daily Retreat programmes provide, in the words of Paramahansa Yogananda, “a dynamo of silence where [you] may go for the exclusive purpose of being recharged by the Infinite.”
Retreat activities include daily group meditations, practice of the YSS Energization Exercises, inspirational classes and programmes, a video show on Guruji, and where available, services at nearby YSS ashrams. There is also ample free time to relax and enjoy God’s presence in the beautiful retreat settings. Yogoda Satsanga Society of India books and recordings are available for private listening and study, and the Retreat dhyana mandir is open for meditation.
Conducted weekend retreats offer a concentrated programmes of classes, led by monks of the YSS monastic order, on the YSS teachings and meditation techniques. Conducted retreats are scheduled at YSS Retreat facilities on many weekends throughout the year — and at various other locations throughout India.
To maximize the effects of the retreat experience, guests are expected to participate in the full retreat programme and not to engage in other activities during the time of their stay.
These retreat programmes are open to all devotees: men, women, and married couples. Men and women will be accommodated separately.
Participants are urged to maintain silence during the retreat to deepen their attunement with Guruji and to build their inner environment.
If you wish to participate in any of these retreat programmes, please inform the concerned Ashram/Kendra/Sadhanalaya at least one month before that retreat, giving your full name, address, telephone number, email ID, Lessons Registration Number, age, and dates of your proposed arrival and departure. You will then receive a confirmation about your registration. There may be a registration fee which you need to pay in advance. Please contact the concerned Ashram/Kendra/Sadhanalaya for further details.
Guruji said: “The greatest of all duties is to remember God. The first thing to do in the morning is to meditate on Him and think how you can give your life to His service, so that all day long you will be filled with His joy.”
These retreats are open to all devotees: men, women, and married couples. Men and women will be accommodated separately. There may be some exceptions in case of married couples of age 65 years and above.
