Swami Chidananda Giri, President and Spiritual Head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship, gave a special talk celebrating the 100th anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda’s founding of the international headquarters of Self-Realization Fellowship atop Mount Washington in Los Angeles in 1925.
Lovingly named by him as the SRF Mother Center, this location was established by Yoganandaji as a training centre for SRF sannyasis, and the administrative centre for disseminating worldwide the ancient science of Kriya Yoga.
During a devotional programme held at the Mother Center in 1936, he prayed: “Heavenly Father….bless us that through our love for Thee we make Mt. Washington a heaven on earth…. May a portable heaven be established in the breast of each one who comes here to seek Thee.”
