SRF Lake Shrine 50th Anniversary Celebration — Stories of Paramahansa Yogananda by Direct Disciples

On August 20, 2000, Self-Realization Fellowship held a daylong celebration to honour the 50th anniversary of the dedication of SRF Lake Shrine in Pacific Palisades, California. As part of the festivities, six monastic disciples of Paramahansa Yogananda (Parvati Mai, Mukti Mata, Uma Mata, Swami Anandamoy Giri, Swami Bhaktananda Giri, and Swami Bimalananda Giri) shared informal reminiscences of their years with the Guru and of events related to the opening of the Lake Shrine. This video captures their stories, interspersed with rare archival footage and photos from the dedication of the Lake Shrine. The inspiring accounts of these sannyasis and sannyasinis convey the love, joy, and wisdom they encountered in the great guru’s presence, giving viewers firsthand intimate insights into the experience of daily life around Paramahansaji.
