Remember that you belong to no one and that no one belongs to you. Reflect that some day you will suddenly have to leave everything in this world — so make the acquaintance of God now.
— Sri Sri Lahiri Mahasaya
We invite you to explore the deeper meaning of existence as explained in the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, in a discourse in Hindi titled “Unravelling the Mystery of Life and Death” by Swami Ishwarananda Giri, a sannyasi of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India.
In his second talk in this two-part series, Swami Ishwarananda elaborates on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda on the subject of the cycle of life and death — delving into the purpose of human birth, the nature of our existence, and what happens beyond physical death. Having shared Guruji’s wisdom on the purpose of our sojourn on earth and the role of the powerful technique of Kriya Yoga in his first talk, here Swami Ishwarananda goes on to explore the role of death in the evolution of the soul, encouraging us to cultivate a more peaceful and joyful approach to both life and death.
The first part of this talk was streamed on April 30, 2025, and is available for viewing here.
The English talk on the same topic was given by Swami Ishwarananda Giri as part of the 2023 SRF World Convocation and is available for viewing here.
