This 9-minute video is a short excerpt from a talk given in India in 2023 by Swami Chidananda Giri, president and spiritual head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship.
Swami Chidanandaji explains that through the science of meditation — especially the techniques of pranayama (life-force control) taught by Paramahansa Yogananda as part of the Kriya Yoga path — we can gradually but steadily elevate and purify our consciousness. Ultimately, we reach a state of true freedom from maya (the cosmic force of delusion) and our own ignorance of our real Self. By the practice of Kriya Yoga meditation, more and more we can awaken within ourselves kindness, loyalty, respect, devotion and all the divine sattvic qualities of our soul-nature.
