Guru is he whom God appoints to lead you out of the darkness of ignorance into the land of His eternal light.
— Paramahansa Yogananda
This July, we joyfully commemorated Guru Purnima by honouring our beloved Gurudeva, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, through special programmes. As part of these celebrations, a special satsanga was conducted by YSS sannyasi Swami Adityananda Giri in Hindi, titled “How to Receive Guru’s Guidance and Blessings.” This inspiring talk drew upon the timeless wisdom of Paramahansa Yogananda to deepen our understanding of one of the most sacred bonds on the spiritual path — the Guru-disciple relationship.
Yoganandaji says, “Guru is he who has experienced Truth. He serves as a guide in the dark forest of life. If you follow him, he will lead you out of the darkness. If you try to find the way alone, you may needlessly lose yourself in the forest for many incarnations. So follow the guru, and he will take you through safely.”
This discourse was live-streamed from the YSS Ranchi ashram on July 5.

If you wish to express your love and gratitude to our Gurudeva, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, and the YSS lineage of gurus for the abundant blessings they have poured forth in your life and reaffirm your commitment to serve his divine mission, we invite you to read the Guru Purnima Appeal:
