Through the grace of God and the Great Gurus, Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) continues to grow rapidly throughout the Indian subcontinent, bringing more and more truth-seekers to the transforming and liberating path of Kriya Yoga.

Executive Assistant

Role: Full-time

Position Summary:
Yogoda Satsanga Society of India is seeking to hire an Executive Assistant for the Youth Services Department (YSD). It is a full-time position with 40 hours of work per week and includes occasional travel assignments.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Support the implementation of the department’s vision and strategic roadmap
  • Collaborate with the Youth Services team to plan and execute youth-focused events such as camps, sangams, workshops, and seminars
  • Draft departmental communications, including memos, announcements, and reports
  • Conduct research and prepare materials to support departmental initiatives and projects
  • Provide administrative support, including documentation, scheduling, and data management
  • Assist in the end-to-end execution of departmental projects and initiatives
  • Coordinate and manage volunteers for various events and programs
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Has an MBA or a Masters degree
    • Project management experience — leading and being involved in innovative, experimental projects
    • Research experience with the ability to do outcome-oriented research on the web as well as within the YSS teachings
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, for both internal communication with volunteers and external communication to parents and other members of the Youth Services community, keeping in tune with YSS writing style
    • Proficient in the use of Google Workspace (online collaboration) tools — Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides (or MS Office Suite — Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Team player and works harmoniously with others — patient and giving
    • Corporate experience – being part of a team achieving time-bound results
    • Prior participation or training in youth programs is a plus

Web Content Manager (IT)

Position Summary:
YSS is seeking a full-time Web Content Manager to provide hands-on support for website management, email campaigns, and other digital projects. A good understanding of YSS principles and standards is required, apart from experience in content management (using WordPress/similar) or other digital marketing areas.


Main Functions of the Role:

  • Update and manage the YSS website content
  • Upload/edit translations
  • Create email/SMS campaigns, and manage lists and audience segments
  • Track analytics, monitor trends, share actionable insights/recommendations
  • Provide training for digital team volunteers, and act as a resource for best practices and ongoing support

 

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:

Engineering Manager (IT)

Position Summary:
As the Engineering Manager for the PHP Full Stack Development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, encompassing both the server and client-side components. You will collaborate with various departments and functions to create high-quality, user-friendly web solutions.


Main Functions of the Role:

  • Backend Development: (Proficiency Level: Expert):
    • Develop server-side web application logic using PHP. We presently use CodeIgniter as the preferred framework and MySQL databases
    • Build RESTful APIs to facilitate communication with front-end applications
    • Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability; Knowledge of Redis is a plus
    • Work with version control systems (Subversion), to track changes and collaborate with team members
    • Conduct unit testing and integration testing of code components
  • Front-end Development: (Proficiency Level: Expert)
    • Develop dynamic and interactive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (Bootstrap and jQuery)
    • Ensure responsive design for mobile and desktop devices
    • Implement user-friendly, intuitive user interfaces designed for the targeted demographics
  • Deployment and DevOps: (Proficiency Level : Intermediate)
    • Deploy and manage web applications on web servers and cloud
    • Maintain the application server (Apache) and all the necessary libraries across multiple environments
    • Deploy the code and maintain the databases
    • Monitor and troubleshoot issues
  • Project Management:
    • Working closely with project team members (especially software developers) to identify and resolve issues
    • Coordinating with cross-discipline teams to make sure that all the stakeholders are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
    • Building prototypes to get validation from internal stakeholders
    • Ensure thorough QA testing for each project
    • Facilitating change requests to ensure that all parties are informed
    • Coordinating the development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
    • Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in PHP
    • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks
    • Proficiency in databases and SQL
    • Experience with version control systems, such as Subversion
    • Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud services

Sevak Opportunities

Some of the benefits of being an ashram Sevak are: living in a spiritually-uplifting ashram environment, morning and evening group meditations led by monastics, regular spiritual discourses and classes conducted by monastics specifically for Sevaks, spiritual fellowship with monastics and other Sevaks, periodic outings with other Sevaks for rejuvenation, and an opportunity to live a spiritually balanced life.

Though devotees offer their Seva without seeking any remuneration other than free boarding and lodging, YSS may offer an honorarium to some Sevaks.

Reception and Bookstore Manager

Location: Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Math, Chennai

Position Summary:

To provide a warm and welcoming support to visitors, devotees, and residents, ensuring a seamless experience for them at the ashram.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Greet and assist visitors/devotees with warmth and respect
  • Manage front desk operations: calls, emails, and inquiries
  • Oversee bookroom: sales, stock, cleanliness, and order
  • Coordinate accommodation bookings and check-ins
  • Handle donations, sales of YSS publications, and other transactions
  • Provide general information about ashram programmes, events, and services
  • Maintain records: visitor logs, donations, sales, and inventory
  • Coordinate with Hospitality, Housekeeping, and other departments
  • Perform basic tasks (filing, photocopying, data entry, etc.)


Skills and Competencies:

  • Clear and courteous communication (verbal and written)
  • Fluency in English and Tamil; knowledge of additional South Indian languages is a plus
  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, email, data entry)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters and handle sensitive information
  • Gentle, service-oriented attitude with sensitivity to others’ needs
  • Familiarity with YSS working culture, prior experience of volunteering in YSS is desirable

Infrastructure and Facilities Manager

Location: Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Math, Chennai

Role: Resident Sevak (3-6 months or longer)

Position Summary:

To ensure the efficient upkeep and smooth functioning of the ashram’s infrastructure, oversee all electrical, mechanical, civil, and related systems with a spirit of dedicated service.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Oversee maintenance of electrical, mechanical, civil, plumbing, and sanitation systems
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of maintenance staff, vendors, and contractors
  • Provide guidance to staff on basic repairs and procedures
  • Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and essential equipment
  • Build and manage a database of reliable repair personnel
  • Procure necessary materials, supplies, and services in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the Hospitality Department to ensure uninterrupted services
  • Periodically evaluate facilities for necessary upgrades or improvements
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules to avoid breakdowns


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Degree/Diploma in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in relevant field) or equivalent experience (e.g., ex-Navy personnel with 10–15 years of service)
    • Technical knowledge in any one field, such as electrical/mechanical/civil
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Fluent in English (spoken and written); spoken Hindi required; Tamil is an added advantage
    • Strong leadership, coordination, and team management abilities
    • Excellent problem-solving ability
    • Proficient in basic computer tools (MS Office, email, recordkeeping)
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
    • Physically fit for site visits, inspections, and emergency response situations

Housekeeping and Hospitality Manager

To ensure the upkeep and maintenance of ashram accommodation facilities, providing a clean, comfortable, and peaceful environment for residents and visitors.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff and support personnel
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms, facilities, and common areas

Supervise and assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting the ashram’s spiritual community.

  • Work with the purchase management team to organize weekly material procurement
  • Ensure timely preparation and service of meals
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and organize kitchen materials efficiently

Position Summary:
The role ensures legal document preparation, compliance with relevant laws, and organized record-keeping, crucial for smooth operations and legal integrity within the organization and coordination with Kendras and Lawyers.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Prepare and manage internal approval documents and legal documents such as Sale/Gift Deeds, Power of Attorney, and Wills, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards
  • Understand and apply relevant laws related to YSS functioning such as Income Tax, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Property to ensure the organization’s compliance with legal requirements
  • Interact effectively with Kendras and devotees to facilitate information exchange and address any concerns
  • Store and file all correspondence, including letters, emails, and messages, in an organized and secure manner, maintaining confidentiality and easy retrieval
  • Interact with lawyers, consultants, etc. for various legal and property-related matters
  • Research the legal statutes, rules, case laws, etc. on various legal issues and present the findings of the research in a meaningful manner


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • Chartered Accountant (Final or Inter) or Company Secretary or Law Degree or any other graduate having experience in legal documents and law-related matters
    • At least 3 years’ work experience (optional)

Data Analyst

Position Summary:
The YSS Helpdesk team is looking for a Data Analyst to support the team in making data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will take the time to understand the problems being addressed, and identify relevant data metrics and analyzes that can yield valuable insights. Key responsibilities include studying data structures and classifying data, cleaning and manipulating data for analysis, analyzing data to derive meaningful metrics, and creating graphs, as needed. The Data Analyst will also develop simple reports and, if possible, summary dashboards. This volunteer will collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, work in alignment with the team’s direction, and proactively propose solutions to key questions.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Actively listening to understand the problem
  • Collaborate with team members to identify data needs and project objectives
  • Analyze data to summarize findings and support decision-making processes
  • Clean and manipulate data to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Create graphs and visualizations to present data insights clearly
  • Develop and maintain simple reports and dashboards to track key metrics
  • Propose data-driven options and solutions based on analysis


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • An MBA, Degree in Statistics or experience with data analysis is preferred
    • This role does not require advanced skills in Data Science. We warmly welcome all individuals who are willing to contribute through intermediate-level analysis.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency in advanced MS Excel functions, including lookups, pivot tables, and IF statements
    • Manipulating and classifying data to make analysis easier
    • Building different and appropriate types of graphs to effectively communicate a data-insight
    • Must be proficient with Google Sheets
    • Preferred but not mandatory skills:
      • Writing short summaries to help the audience understand the data: computation methodology and the implications of the graphs/metric derived

YSS is seeking a volunteer to set up and manage multi-modal digital campaigns. The individual should have experience in creating and maintaining automation flows and personalization.

Main Functions of the Role:

  • Support the ideation, planning and setup of Marketing Automation on YSS websites, Email, SMS, WhatsApp and other platforms
  • Manage end-to-end campaign production and deployment
  • Create and maintain audience segments/lists as needed for YSS initiatives
  • Deploy automations for lead generation, registration, welcome and drip campaigns using marketing automation platforms
  • Track performance, monitor trends, share actionable insights and make recommendations based on results


Qualifications:

  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Proficiency in reporting and analytical skills are preferred
    • Proficiency in Google Search Console and Yoast plugin is required
    • Exposure to other SEO tools are helpful, although not compulsory
