About the Camp

Yogoda Youth Camp is based on the How-to-Live teachings of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, which promote balanced development of body, mind, and soul.

The Yogoda Youth Camp is organized under the stewardship of YSS sannyasis, with the support of experienced householder disciples and well-trained volunteers.

Camp and Campus Features

  • The camp will be conducted in the 25-acre Shoolini University campus in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
  • The camp has the full support of Shoolini University, which is a premier research-focused private university in India.
  • State-of-the-art campus facilities—such as hostel rooms, classrooms, dining facilities, sports arenas, and auditoriums are being made available for YSS camp.
  • Boys’ and Girls’ camps will be conducted separately but within the same campus and in the same week. This will enable the families who have both a boy and a girl child to send them to the camp at the same time.
  • During the camp, children will live together as a community of spiritual friends in the same age groups, under the guidance of caring elders.
Campers will be hosted in comfortable living spaces surrounded by nature, enabling a balance of indoor and outdoor activities.

Daily Programme

A typical day at the camp will be filled with a broad range of activities that engage teenagers in a fun-filled way while inculcating in them discipline and reflection:

  • Daily group meditations
  • How-to-Live classes on topics such as willpower, friendship, and fearlessness
  • Monastic-led satsangas and review classes on meditation techniques
  • Sports and games
  • Gita chanting
  • Kirtan
  • Movie night
  • Arts & Crafts projects
  • Nature hike
  • Spiritual mela
  • Cultural evening
  • Group discussions and role plays

Next Steps

  • Information on how to apply for your child to participate in the camp will be provided in the latter half of February. Please revisit this page for the information and application link.
  • Some parents may wish to drop their children off with YSS volunteers at Delhi, Chandigarh, or Solan and plan a personal retreat, pilgrimage, or Himalayan holiday during the camp period.

We look forward to teens from Yogoda families participating in the unique and enriching opportunity of the Yogoda Youth Camp, and benefiting from spiritual friendships, fun activities, self-discipline, classes, and the reawakening of a personal relationship with God.
