About the Event

To keep company with the Guru is not only to be in his physical presence (as this is sometimes impossible), but mainly means to keep him in our hearts and to be one with him in principle and to attune ourselves with him.

— Sri Sri Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri, The Holy Science

In The Holy Science, Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri has presented the world with an extraordinary treatise exploring parallel passages from the scriptures to reveal the essential unity of all religions. Revered as a Jnanavatar or an “incarnation of wisdom,” the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Sri Yukteswar was born on May 10, 1855, at Serampore in West Bengal.

To honour the avirbhav divas of Swami Sri Yukteswar, a special commemorative long meditation was conducted by a YSS sannyasi on Sunday, May 4. This spiritually uplifting programme in English included periods of chanting, inspirational reading, and meditation.

On this blessed occasion, in-person programmes were also conducted at YSS ashrams, kendras, and mandalis.
